Ultra Violet

Well, my U assignment is very obvious to spot. Actually, you could locate it above this text- Ultra Violet. I had been tricky about how I would present it. If you think you know what it is, post it bellow (You'd know on Friday is you're from my class).

Anyway, I found out some interesting facts about Ultra Violet and I wanted to share it on my blog so that my blog's viewers (only those people who would read it) would be able to see these facts. Some facts, I had just posted to make viewers aware.

Beneficial effects of UV

Vitamin D

A positive effect of UVB exposure is that it induces the production of Vitamin D in the skin. One of the effects of Vitamin D deficiency is bad absorption of calcium which could lead to bone diseases.

Medical applications

Ultraviolet radiation has other medical applications, in the treatment of skin conditions such as psoriasis and vitiligo. In cases of psoriasis and vitiligo, UV light with wavelength of 311 nanometers is most effective.

Harmful effects of UV

Skin

An overexposure to UVB radiation can cause sunburn and some forms of skin cancer.

Eye

High intensities of UVB light are hazardous to the eyes, and exposure can cause Welder's flash(photokeratitis or arc eye) and may lead to cataracts pterygium and pinguecula.

Great work Daphney!!

You are very clever, and have made some really great presentations. Your information is always informative and I think you are very advanced in the use of ICT tools to present and find out about your work.

Maybe someday you can teach the class about these great things!
